Terms of Service

Mosaic is a professional network and production workspace for independent film cast and crew, operated by Moon Era Films ("Moon Era", "we", "us"). These terms apply to moonmosaic.co and every part of the product — profiles, credits and filmography, the Writers' Room and screenplay editor, the Film Workspace and Production Toolkit, company pages and Circles, cast and crew search, bookings, messaging, the calendar, festival tools, paid plans, and workshop programming. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.

You need an account to build a profile, claim credits, write screenplays, or use the Toolkit. You must be at least 18 years old, give accurate information, and keep your login to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

One human, one profile. Companies get company pages, which must be managed by someone authorized to represent them.

Mosaic exists because credits on independent films get lost. Credit you add about yourself or about others is a factual claim, and you're representing that it's true. Don't inflate a role, don't credit yourself on work you didn't do, and don't add someone to a project to imply an association that doesn't exist.

Project hosts can accept or decline claims on their projects, and accepted credits may link to the person's profile and the companies attached to the film. We may remove, correct, or unpublish a credit that is disputed, misleading, or unverifiable. Repeated false credits are grounds for removing an account.

You keep ownership of everything you create or upload — screenplays, drafts, notes, character breakdowns, stills, posters, headshots, reels, schedules, budgets, and documents. You give us a limited licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that material so we can run the product, and to show the public parts of your profile, film, and company pages to visitors and search engines. We don't claim any rights in your stories.

Only upload material you have the rights to. If a producer, studio, writer, or photographer holds the rights, get permission first. We remove infringing material when a rights holder tells us about it.

Screenplays are private by default. Only you and the collaborators you invite can read or edit them, unless you share a link, submit the script to a workshop, or choose to show it on your profile. Comments, mentions, notes, and feedback are visible to the people with access to that screenplay. Anyone you give access to can read what you've written, so invite with care.

Imports and exports (PDF, Fountain, Final Draft) are best-effort conversions. Check the result before you rely on it — scanned PDFs, unusual formatting, and third-party files may not convert perfectly. Your original uploaded file is kept alongside any editable version.

Mosaic can read your screenplay to build scene lists, characters, locations, sides, breakdowns, schedules, and budgets. That reading happens to serve you; it doesn't change your script, and we don't use your writing to train any outside system or share it with other members.

Workspace material — schedules, budgets, breakdowns, call sheets, crew lists, legal documents, checklists, release and festival plans, and imported documents — is private to you and the collaborators you invite, unless you publish it. Archiving a project keeps it in your account and off the public site.

Draft schedules, draft budgets, rate suggestions, festival tiers and dates, circuit tips, and other generated reads are starting points, not professional, legal, financial, or union advice. Rates are typical figures, not quotes; festival dates may be estimates based on past years. Generated drafts are never applied without your review, and they never overwrite work you've entered. Check everything before you pay a submission fee, sign a contract, or lock a shoot day.

Release forms and agreements you send through Mosaic are templates. You're responsible for making sure they suit your production and jurisdiction.

Company admins control their Team, can give titles, and can add, pin, or hide people on the Roster and Alumni. Roster and Alumni are also filled automatically from accepted credits on the company's films. Being on a company's Roster, Alumni, or Circle shows a working or community relationship — it doesn't mean you're employed by that company, and companies must not present it that way.

Companies may run a paid Circle membership with their own price, perks, and events. The company, not Moon Era, is responsible for delivering what it promises to members. Circle payments are processed by Stripe and paid out to the company's connected Stripe account; Mosaic keeps a platform fee shown to company admins, and Stripe's card fees also apply. Companies must complete Stripe's onboarding and follow Stripe's terms to receive payouts.

Mosaic has a free plan and paid plans (currently Plus and Create, with Create in Starter and Studio sizes), plus one-off Production Passes for individual films. Current prices and what each plan includes are on our pricing page. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.
• Upgrades take effect right away. We charge your card on file for the difference for the rest of the current billing period, shown to you before you confirm.
• Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep what you paid for until then. We don't give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it.
• Over the limit. If you move to a plan with lower limits, work above the new limit is paused — never deleted. Paused screenplays and productions stay readable, exportable, and shareable, and you choose which ones stay active. Upgrading turns them back on.
• Failed payments. If a charge fails, your plan may move to Free until the payment is fixed.

We may change prices or plan features. Price increases apply from your next billing period after we've given you notice. Taxes may be added where required.

Mosaic introduces people. Any deal you make — day rate, kit fee, dates, deliverables, credit, payment — is between you and the other party. Moon Era is not the employer, agent, payroll service, or guarantor for any booking made through the site, and we don't handle payment between members for bookings.

If you choose to show rates publicly, that's your decision and you can turn it off in your availability settings. Do your own diligence before you hire or accept work.

Workshops, Circle events, and calendar invitations may have their own capacity, schedule, and submission rules shown on the event page. Material shared at a workshop — presentations, pages, and feedback — is for attendees' personal use unless the host says otherwise. Submitting a screenplay to a workshop lets the hosts read it for that workshop.

This is a working professional network. Don't:

• impersonate another person, company, or production;
• post fake casting calls, unpaid work disguised as paid, or bait-and-switch offers;
• harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone, in public, in comments, or in messages;
• share someone else's screenplay or private material without permission;
• send bulk solicitations, spam, or off-platform recruiting blasts;
• scrape, resell, or bulk-export member data;
• get around plan limits, payment, or access controls;
• attempt to break, probe, or overload the service.

Casting and crew calls must describe real work, with honest terms about pay, dates, and nudity or intimacy requirements. Anything predatory gets removed and the account closed.

The Mosaic name, logomark, design system, written material, role taxonomy, and software are owned by Moon Era. You can use the product; you can't copy it, resell access to it, or build a competing dataset from it.

You can cancel a plan or delete your account from your settings. Deleting your account removes your profile and private material, keeping only what we need for legal or accounting reasons; export your screenplays first if you want to keep them. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other members at risk, or repeatedly posts false credits.

Mosaic is provided as-is. We work hard on uptime and accuracy, but we don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, that every credit, profile, festival date, or draft is accurate, or that a booking will work out. Keep your own copies of important work.

To the extent the law allows, Moon Era isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost work, lost production days, missed deadlines, lost profit — arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We'll update these terms as the product grows and will change the date at the top when we do. Material changes get an email or an in-product notice. Questions about any of this go through our contact page.
