Dear writer,
You're officially invited to the 2026 Moon Era Writers' Workshop. Two sessions split between two days: craft on Friday, then Saturday we read every screenplay out loud — together, in one room — and talk honestly about what's working and what would make it better. Either day is optional, so come to one or both, whatever works for you. We'll be gathered in the cozy, intimate setting of The Ragsdale's living room. It doesn't need to be perfect. Just honest and raw. We'll close the workshop with anonymous voting for the most compelling screenplays and ideas. Let's inspire together.
With warmth,
Moon Era Films

Don't know how to format a screenplay? Don't let that stop you.

Write it like anything else you'd write — a Google Doc, an email to yourself, screenshots of your notes app, handwritten pages. We are not looking for polished formatting. We want your stories.

If we have extra time on the day, we'll walk anyone who wants it through proper screenplay formatting together. Nobody gets left behind for a margin.

On Saturday we go through every submission one by one — up on the TV, read through together as a room — then talk it out: what's working, and the critiques that would make it stronger. We close the day with anonymous votes for our favorite screenplays and concepts. Submission deadline: Thursday, September 24.

Good to know

What should I submit?
One original short film screenplay, 5–12 pages. Plus any number of short film concepts you'd like to pitch. Both are optional — but the room is better when you bring something.
When's the deadline?
Thursday, September 24, 2026. Late is better than never, but earlier means more eyes.
Can I replace my screenplay?
Yes. You get one screenplay slot — upload a new file any time before the deadline and it replaces the old one.
What actually happens to my pages?
They get read aloud on Saturday with everyone watching, followed by candid review — what's working, and what would make it better. That's the whole point.
Does it need to be polished?
No. Honest and raw beats polished and safe.
What should I bring?
Yourself, something to write with, and a thick-ish skin. Notes are candid but never cruel.
Where is it?
The Ragsdale Residence — 3505 Necia Dr., Moore, OK 73160. Park on the street.
